Study Tips, Time Management Skills, and More!

Final exams are just around the corner, and we want to make sure you are well-prepared to ace your exams! Learn some valuable study tips, time management tricks, and campus resources to help you succeed.

Finals Study Tips:
  • Make a studying schedule
  • Use active learning techniques such as:
  • Quizzing a friend
  • Drawing diagrams
  • Try spacing out your studying instead of last-minute cramming
Time Management:

Effective time management is extremely important. Here are some tips to help you make the most of your time:

  • Use a calendar system (ex: Google Calendar, physical planner)
  • Make to-do lists
  • Break down large tasks into smaller, more manageable tasks & create deadlines for each of them
  • Schedule enough time in between activities for some breathing room
  • Take breaks and prioritize sleep, meals, and self-care
Tutoring:
  • Find when and where the Academic Assistance and Tutoring Centers (AATC) tutor your subject
  • There is tutoring in the Residential Academic Centers from 6-9pm on Mondays through Thursdays for Math, Chemistry, and Writing
  • Go to your Instructor's and TA's Office Hours. They are there to help you!
OEOES:

The Office of Educational Opportunities and Enrichment Services (OEOES) is the main campus resource for time management. It offers various tools and services that can help you with time management, productivity skills, and more!

  • Handouts for scheduling and setting goals
  • Success Coaching for personalized support
  • Workshops for:
    • Task Management
    • Designing a Quarter Calendar
    • Designing a Weekly Schedule
    • Focus and Concentration
    • And more!
