2025 Energy and Water Challenge

Our annual Energy and Water Challenge is well underway! If you have not already, sign up for the challenge, join your building’s team and start completing actions. New actions are added weekly, and each one of them will be based around sustainable topics like water, energy, waste, and climate. Keep completing actions and take your team to the victory!

SHDS Sustainability is Hiring

SHDS Sustainability is hiring for a student sustainability assistant. The Sustainability Education and Outreach Student Assistant position is a part-time student staff member of the Student Housing and Dining Services (SHDS) sustainability team.

The student will support the SHDS Sustainability Education and Outreach Program for Student Housing residents.

The Green Initiative Fund (TGIF) Fall Grant Cycle Applications Open!

Do you have a sustainable project, research, or event you'd like to implement at UC Davis? You can get up to $20,000 in funding by applying for a TGIF grant! TGIF gives grants to UC Davis students, staff, or faculty members for project proposals that improve sustainability and benefit undergraduates. Some previous TGIF-granted projects include the Freedges, the Sheepmowers, and the Arboretum Texas Tree Trials. Click here for more examples of previously granted projects!
