Our annual Energy and Water Challenge is well underway! If you have not already, sign up for the challenge, join your building’s team and start completing actions. New actions are added weekly, and each one of them will be based around sustainable topics like water, energy, waste, and climate. Keep completing actions and take your team to the victory!

SHDS Sustainability is hiring for a student sustainability assistant. The Sustainability Education and Outreach Student Assistant position is a part-time student staff member of the Student Housing and Dining Services (SHDS) sustainability team.

The student will support the SHDS Sustainability Education and Outreach Program for Student Housing residents.

Whether you're a tea enthusiast or just looking to try something new, you'll enjoy blending unique flavors and learning about the benefits of each herb. All supplies will be provided—just bring your curiosity and love for tea! 

Get into the holiday spirit sustainably! At our Holiday DIY Workshop, you’ll create heartfelt and sustainable gifts like chocolate-in-a-jar, decorate festive postcards, and upcycle items into tailored presents! Bring your creativity and a friend (or two!) for an evening of holiday cheer, crafting, and community.

Discover the power of DIY personal care—sustainably! Come join us for a fun, hands-on workshop where you'll learn to make your own toothpaste and deodorant using simple, natural ingredients. It’s an easy way to reduce waste and ditch the chemicals. Plus, you'll get to customize your containers to make them uniquely yours

Get ready to embrace the excitement of Spooky Day with a twist of sustainability! SHDS Sustainability is absolutely thrilled to invite everyone to join in on the fun while making sustainable choices that benefit our planet.

Do you have a sustainable project, research, or event you'd like to implement at UC Davis? You can get up to $20,000 in funding by applying for a TGIF grant! TGIF gives grants to UC Davis students, staff, or faculty members for project proposals that improve sustainability and benefit undergraduates. Some previous TGIF-granted projects include the Freedges, the Sheepmowers, and the Arboretum Texas Tree Trials. Click here for more examples of previously granted projects!
