Join the Earth Day Art Contest
Earth Day is a celebration of everything wonderful about the planet that sustains us, and a
call for action to preserve and protect it. To mark the occasion, we are inviting you to get
inspired and create a work of art for the Earth Day 2025 Art Contest based on the theme
“Our Power, Our Planet” Your creation can take many forms, including painting, drawing, embroidery, crochet, knitting, poetry, fashion, photography, digital art.
2025 Contest Timeline:
- Submissions accepted: Monday, March 31 until Friday, April 11 at 11:59pm
- Submissions displayed online: Starting on Monday, April 14
- Voting opens: Monday, April 14 until Tuesday, April 22 at 11:59pm
- Winners announced: Monday, April 28 on the Sustainability Newsletter
The three most-voted pieces will take the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. The winner will be decided by a vote open to students & staff.
- 1st place prizes: $25 Gift card for The Paint Chip store in Downtown, 8'' x 8'' sketchbook, set of color pencils.
- 2nd place prizes: 8'' x 8'' sketchbook, set of color pencils, recycled pens.
- 3rd place prizes: 8" x 8" sketchbook, set of color pencils.

Join us at the Resident Gardens!
We are so excited to welcome our residents back in our gardens! Take a look at the volunteer hours below for the Spring Quarter schedule. In the meantime, Join the Resident Garden Discord to stay up on the latest happenings in the resident garden.
Resident Garden @ Segundo – located between Bixby Hall and the Segundo Dining Commons
- Mondays: 12:00-2:00pm
- Tuesdays: 3:00-5:00pm
- Wednesdays: 12:00-2:00pm
Resident Garden @ Tercero – located near the main entrance to Latitude.
- Hours to be announced soon. Check the RG Discord to be the first ones to know!
Adopt-A-Plot
Residents can also adopt a plot in the Segundo or Tercero garden for one quarter or longer to steward their own garden space. Adopt-a-plotters will have access to garden materials and mentorship.
If you are interested in adopting a plot, please fill out the Adopt-A-Plot application or visit us during open volunteer hours and speak to one of our Resident Garden Coordinators.
