Trying to discern burnout, a one-time negative experience with a class, lack of info/support with true lack of passion for a field or subject? Here are some tips that can help:
1. When Adding/Dropping Classes this Term, Consider:
- Stress levels and enjoyment with the subject
- Performance in previous classes
- Your well-being and values (work-life balance, socializing, self-care, time for outside passions, etc.)
- Your feelings about the culture of the field/department
2. Reaching Out to Gain Insight:
- Talking to people who have studied your major or are in your desired career path can help give first-hand insight into what you working towards
- Peer Mentors, Professors, TAs, College and Major Advisors, and ICC Advisors are all here and more than happy to help guide you through this process!
3. How Do I Speak to a Peer Advisor or Major Advisor?
- Schedule an appointment with your advisor
- Speak to an Advisor by your College and Major
