Trying to discern burnout, a one-time negative experience with a class, lack of info/support with true lack of passion for a field or subject? Here are some tips that can help:

1. When Adding/Dropping Classes this Term, Consider:
  • Stress levels and enjoyment with the subject
  • Performance in previous classes
  • Your well-being and values (work-life balance, socializing, self-care, time for outside passions, etc.)
  • Your feelings about the culture of the field/department
2. Reaching Out to Gain Insight:
  • Talking to people who have studied your major or are in your desired career path can help give first-hand insight into what you working towards
