Prepare Your Student for Finals and Winter Break

Fall quarter is already wrapping up! Soon, it will be time for winter break. Finals week is December 8-12. Here’s what you need to know about preparing your student for finals week and winter break.

Residence hall closure

Residence halls will be closing at noon on December 13, 2025. Your student will need to be packed up and out of the residence hall by that time. They’ll receive a checklist with further information on what to do before leaving as we get closer. Residence halls will open back up at 8 am on January 2, 2026.

If your student needs a place to stay over break, we have solutions for them. From December 12-January 2, UC Davis Students can enjoy a discounted rate of $99 per night plus tax when staying at the Davis Hilton during the holiday season. This rate includes a hot breakfast and Wifi.

Share a Meal

'Tis the season for giving! No UC Davis student should go hungry. Support long-term solutions to end hunger in our community. Faculty, students and parents can help us reach our goal by donating in $1 increments using their Aggie Cash or credit card. Donations will be accepted at all dining commons, Latitude Restaurant, Spokes, The Gunrock, Scrubs Cafe, and all markets. Funds will directly support causes, such as the Aggie Eats Food Truck, The Aggie Compass Basic Needs Center and ASUCD Pantry.
