Meet The Residential Academics Staff

Did you know that everyone living in a residence hall is automatically assigned an Academic Peer Mentor? Check out who your Peer Mentor is and learn more about how they can help on the Residential Academics website!
What Is An Academic Peer Mentor?
An Academic Peer Mentor is a current UC Davis student that can help you with your transition to UC Davis by providing advice and connecting you with campus resources. Some topics that Peer Mentors can help with include the following:
- Developing productive strategies for studying and test-taking
- Preparing for advising appointments
- Connecting with campus resources for things like tutoring, mental health, career development, and more
- Building rapport and communicating with teaching staff
- Navigating online resources for students, such as Canvas, Schedule Builder, OASIS, MyDegree, and the General Catalog
- Major and minor exploration
- Campus Involvement
How Can I Get In Touch With A Peer Mentor?
Each residence hall has its own Peer Mentor, and you can find yours here! They will send you an email each week to highlight upcoming events and pieces of academic advice, and you can talk to them through email, at their weekly drop-in hours, or by scheduling a one-on-one appointment with them. If you are unable to meet with your Peer Mentor, or you need more immediate support, you can meet with a Peer Mentor at any of the three Residential Academic Centers.
What Is A Residential Academic Center?
A Residential Academic Center (or RAC) is a study space that offers Peer Mentor services as well as evening tutoring for Math, Chemistry, and Writing. If you prefer to study by yourself or want a private room to attend online classes, have telehealth appointments, or just be alone, you can reserve a Study Office in the RAC!
