Robert Reilly

Location: Segundo Dining Commons

Growing up in New York, Chef Robert Reilly has worked as a chef for 30+ years and at UC Davis for 6 years. His favorite type of food to prepare is Italian, and his favorite on-campus dining events are theme meals. His guilty pleasure food is a good Tiramisu, and his hobbies outside of work include time with his kids, golf and travel.

 

Roger Thompson

Location: Latitude Restaurant

Chef Roger Thompson is from California. He has been cooking professionally for 26 years and has worked at UC Davis for 8 years. His favorite type of food to prepare is Asian cuisine, and his favorite on-campus dining event to prepare for was Latitude’s opening. His guilty pleasure food is any type of carb, and his hobbies outside of work include golf, video games and watching sports, specifically the Giants and Niners.

 

Anthony Russo

Location: Tercero Dining Commons

Chef Anthony Russo grew up in Loomis, CA and studied at Gonzaga University and the Culinary Institute of America. He has been working professionally as a chef for 12 years and has worked at UC Davis for 4 years. He loves cooking with his kids, and his favorite on-campus dining event to prepare for is the Harvest Festival theme meal. His guilty pleasure food is a #2 at In-n-Out with onion, Dr. Pepper and an extra cheeseburger with onion. Outside of work, he loves spending time with his family, playing the guitar, reading books, shopping for records, watching live music and traveling. 

 

Matthew Reeves

Chef Matthew Reeves is from Auburn, CA and studied at American River College. He has been a chef for 7 years and just started as UC Davis’ new chef at Cuarto. Thai and Vietnamese cuisines are his favorite foods to prepare, and his guilty pleasure food is peanut butter and jelly with BBQ chips. Outside of work, he loves fermenting, pickling, traveling, playing music and experiencing new cultures and food.

Marci Ofina

General Manager Marci Ofina grew up in Sacramento, CA and has worked at UC Davis for 10 years. Her favorite part of the job is being able to develop her staff, especially her part-time employees, to get them ready for the next step in their careers. With starting her career in the culinary field as a pastry chef, she loves being a part of the culinary and food scene on campus. Her favorite on-campus dining events to prepare for are the theme meals and orientation. She enjoys letting her managers get creative in the decor and seeing the dining room transform into a different atmosphere. Her guilty pleasure foods are ribeye, roasted bone marrow, espresso tonic, old-fashioned glazed donuts and senorita bread. Outside of work, she loves golf, boxing, watching Dodger baseball and spending time with her four nephews. 

 

Gokhan Askoy

General Manager Gokhan Askoy grew up in Turkey and has worked at UC Davis for 25 years, starting as a student employee. His favorite parts of his job are working with students, the food and educating customers about food. His guilty pleasure food is Dos Coyotes’ rancho burrito. Outside of work, he loves playing volleyball. He played it professionally for 11 years in Turkey and now trains his daughter. 

 

Daniel Bodhiprasart

General Manager Daniel Bodhiprasart was born and raised in Davis, CA. He began working for UC Davis in 1997 as a high school student and worked as a student employee during his time as an undergrad as well. He grew up in a culture surrounded by food, and his favorite memories and holidays centered around food. Now, he loves spreading that passion by reaching people through food. He also enjoys training and mentoring employees to get them to their next career goal. His favorite on-campus dining events to prepare for are the theme meals, which he thinks are fun and creative and loves doing something special for residents. His guilty pleasure food is anything spicy. He says, “If I’m not sweating, I’m not enjoying it.” Outside of work, he loves hiking with his dog, spending time with friends and family, listening to music and spending time outdoors.

Keith Luke

Location: Cuarto Dining Commons

General Manager Keith Luke is from a small town in San Diego called Valley Center. He has worked for UC Davis for just over 7 years and loves being able to support his passion for food while creating a fun and welcoming environment. His favorite on-campus dining event to prepare for is the Surf’s Up Theme Meal because of the fun decorations and delicious menu. His guilty pleasure food is SoCal Carne Asada Fries, and his hobbies are spending time with his kids and raising animals, including chickens, ducks, quail, geese, bunnies and cats. He also loves music, especially guitars, banjos, drums and live shows.
