Move-Out Checklist

Res Hall Move-Out Checklist

The Residence Halls Close on Thursday, June 13, 2024

Your housing contract states that you must move out within 24 hours of your last final, but no later than 7 pm on June 13, 2024 or which ever comes first.

Please complete the tasks below prior to leaving the residence halls to avoid charges, including a $75 improper check-out fee.

  • Update your mailing address
    • On SISWEB so we are able to forward USPS mail and packages to you
    • With online companies, such as Amazon, Target, etc. Notify magazine, newspaper companies and all other agencies of your new address via their website or by calling them directly.
  • Please pick up any letter mail and/or packages from your Area Service Desk/Package Center BEFORE 5PM, JUNE 13
  • Your bicycle must be removed from the residence hall area and all campus grounds. Remaining bicycles will be impounded, and owners may be charged impound and improper checkout fee.
  • Submit any necessary service requests via your myHousing channel on my.ucdavis.edu. Submission of service requests does not absolve you of charges if repairs are a result of damages.
  • Return any borrowed dishes, cups and silverware directly to the Dining Commons.
  • Remove everything from doors, walls, ceilings, closets, furniture, tack boards, and windows.
  • Ensure that window screens are installed properly and close windows/blinds/drapes and turn off thermostat.
  • Room furniture, including bed, should be left as is. Leave bed ladders in room.
  • Dispose of and sort all waste properly. Use your Res Hall’s waste rooms and take gently used items and non-perishable foods you wish to donate to the donation stations – see page two for instructions.
  • Dust and vacuum room. Dispose of dirt properly leaving hallways outside of your room clean.
  • Double-check drawers, closets, restroom/locker, and laundry room for personal property.
  • Return any temporary keys or temporary/lockout cards to your Area Service Desk
  • Please clean microfridge, remove all items and leave plugged in prior to moving out to avoid additional cleaning fees
