Get Ready for Spring Break Sustainably!

Getting Ready for Spring Break

Spring break is right around the corner. Warmer days, time to travel and relax are just some of the things available to enjoy during the break. Spring break can also be a fantastic opportunity to do some cleaning and alleviate the work before move-out arrives. Here are some tips to get a head start:

  • Clean up your room and identify items you do not need anymore. You can start thinking about the stuff you do not need and minimize the work you need to do during move-out.
  • If you are going somewhere for spring break where you can take the items you are no longer using, take some with you. This will help lighten your load for move-out.
  • Drop off any gently used items in the reusable bin* at your Area Service Desk or a local secondhand store. *All items are given to the Aggie Reuse Store. You can find more about them on their website. - Properly dispose of items you do not need anymore. Follow our Waste Guide if you are not sure how to do so.
  • You can upcycle those discarded items into something cool. Take a look at this Upcycling Ideas Guide for some inspiration. This is not your basic spring cleaning!

If you are traveling or need to leave your room for a while, make sure that windows are closed to save energy, all unused electronics and cords are unplugged, and make plans to travel sustainably. Take a look at this Sustainable Travel Guide for more tips.

Enjoy your break and we will see you in Spring quarter!
