How to Build a Community on Campus
Hopefully, you’re starting to settle into life at UC Davis. To help you feel more at home, let’s talk about how to build a community for yourself here on campus.
Attend Events
Want to watch a movie or attend a silent disco? We’ve got events for you! Attending events is a great way to get out and meet new people.
What events can you attend? Student Housing and Dining Services puts on a variety of events throughout the year for you to have fun at and socialize. One of the ones you may have gone to at the beginning of the year was Cowchella. We have many more fun events planned for you every quarter, including movie nights, theme meal nights, hall hop, block party and more! Keep your eye on our Aggie Reader newsletter for when these events will be happening so you can get out there and socialize while having a good time and eating tasty food.
In our newsletter, the Aggie Reader, we also list out all upcoming athletic games. Cheer on our school while watching your favorite sports and meeting other students.
Join Clubs and Organizations
Want to meet people with similar interests? Joining a club or a community is a great way to do that. UC Davis has more than 800 clubs and communities on campus for you to choose from, including volunteer opportunities.
Switch Up Your Study Spots
We know that your bed is an extra comfy spot to study, but getting out and about on campus can introduce you to more people and improve your mental health. Check out the library, the memorial union, the dining commons and even a tree in the arboretum.
