Learn how to successfully manage midterm season and discover information on the Majors Fair.

 

Hi Aggies! With Midterms Season right around the corner, we wanted to prepare you all with useful tips on how to manage your way through the next several weeks!

How to Successfully Get Through Midterms Season YOU GOT THIS!


Before: 

  • Prepare all the materials you’ll need for your midterms (ex. scantrons, blue books, pencils)
  • Create a study plan outlining what you will study and when in order to avoid cramming
  • Visit OEOES as a resource to help with time management
  • Practice active learning rather than relying only on rereading notes 
  • Reach out to others to help your studying
  • Form study groups with classmates
  • Attend tutoring at the AATC 
  • Go to your professor’s or TA’s office hours to get direct help 
  • Visit the RAC for a study space + school supplies


During:

  • Get enough sleep and nutrition the day of your exams
  • If permitted by your professor, quickly skim through the exam before starting 
  • Relax and take deep breathstrust in yourself and your studying! 

After: 

  • Go to professor/TA office hours to review your performance 
  • Identify what studying habits/strategies worked and didn’t work for you 
  • Consider meeting with your Peer Mentor to debrief on your midterms

Majors Fair: What It Is, When Is It and More


What is Majors Fair for? 

  • Learn more about the majors/minors offered at Davis 
  • Explore your different interests in relation to your career or personal interest
  • Meet professional advisors to talk about the variety of majors and colleges 

When and Where is it? 

  • October 23, 2024 from 1-3 PM 
  • Located at the Tercero Quad (outside of Wall Hall)
