9 Days Until Move-Out! 

Student Housing and Dining Services will be collecting donations of gently used reusable goods and non-perishable foods during finals week as residents move out of the residence halls. These items are donated to on-campus and local community partners so they can continue to be used by others. 

You will find Donation Stations at each Res Hall building lobby and at Regan Main lobby for the Regan area. We will begin to collect items starting, Friday, June 7 until Thursday, June 13. Take a look at the items we will be accepting: 

• Clothing & Shoes 
• Non-perishable, unopened, unexpired food (canned soup, granola bars, ramen, peanut butter etc.) 
• Accessories 
• School/Office/Art Supplies 
• Linens & Towels 
• Housewares 
• Small, working electronics. 

Please DO NOT donate: 

• Food 
• Open, expired, or perishable. 
• Pillows or mattress toppers 
• Toiletries or personal care products (lotion, nail polish, make-up, etc.) 
• Cleaning products 
• Appliances and Printers 
• Anything badly stained, soiled, worn, torn, broken, or missing parts. 
• Hazardous materials (email shds.sustainability@ucdavis.edu for proper disposal instructions)

Sort it Out! 

See the Residence Halls Waste Diversion Guide for instructions and locations for diverting Recyclables, Compostable Waste, eWaste, and Household Hazardous Waste from the landfill. 

For your convenience, bags for donations, recycling, and landfill waste are available for pick-up from the Area Service Desk to assist with sorting waste starting Friday, May 22. Residents are responsible for properly disposing of their waste. Please refer to the signs posted on your building’s waste room door for instructions as to where to find waste bins during finals week.

Our resident gardens are open for volunteer hours! Come learn and relax while gardening and polish your plant-caring skills. Look at the volunteer hours below for the Spring Quarter schedule. You can also Join the Resident Garden Discord to stay up on the latest happenings in the resident garden. 

Resident Garden @ Segundo – located between Bixby Hall and the Segundo Dining Commons

Resident Garden @ Tercero – located near the main entrance to Latitude. 

• Mondays: 10:00-12:00 pm
